Bhubaneswar, April 14: Development work at the renowned Maa Tarini Temple in Odisha’s Keonjhar district is set to begin soon, following Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s announcement of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) worth Rs 215 crore. The announcement was made during his visit to the temple on the occasion of Chaiti Parva.
As per reports, the project will feature modern amenities such as rest houses, a cultural interpretation centre, food courts, and enhanced security measures to accommodate the large number of devotees, particularly during festivals and religious gatherings.
The announcement has been met with enthusiasm by local residents, devotees, and tourism stakeholders, who believe the initiative will not only improve the temple’s infrastructure but also significantly boost tourism and economic growth in the region.
Worth mentioning, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi undertook a day-long visit to Keonjhar today, coinciding with Pana Sankranti, the main day of the renowned Chaiti Parva festival at Ghatgaon’s Maa Tarini temple. This year marks the 89th edition of the Chaiti Parva, a significant celebration at the temple of Goddess Maa Tarini, the revered presiding deity of Keonjhar district.
